The MSC student will conduct a specified program of teaching and research training and development under the supervision and direction of two Principal Investigators. In addition, collaborative work will be undertaken in the APC Microbiome Institute and the Trinity College Dublin, Ireland.
Further information
Immunity is critically important to sustain life. This is further highlighted by the recent COVID pandemic and the global response to tackle this issue. Our research has recently found that dairy ingredients can drive a specific immune response in tissues based on the amount of fat stored in the body. The new project aims to determine the mechanisms for the dairy effects using various metabolomic and metagenomic platforms and gene expression analyses, with a view to developing novel dairy ingredients that can improve the immune response in tissues.
